Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pereira Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pit Mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mies is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Condemned 84 - Face the agression. Pereira Diaz looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pereira Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pit Mies! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mies looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diaz is fending him off so far but Mies persists. Nope, Diaz circles away and we're back to standing. Mies looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Diaz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mies, pushing him back against the cage. Diaz works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mies works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Diaz trying to control but Mies is working from the bottom. Mies tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mies is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Diaz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Diaz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Our spies down at at Bonsai Club MMA inform us that Mies has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Mies tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mies has a closed guard, preventing Diaz from standing up. Diaz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Diaz has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Diaz advances position into side control! Diaz looks up at the clock and then as Mies takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diaz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Diaz stands up and beckons Mies to his feet. Diaz feints and as Mies raises his hands in defense, Diaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mies working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Diaz stays in close to Mies's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mies looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Diaz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Diaz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Diaz distracts Mies with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Diaz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Diaz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mies is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz preventing the sweep. Mies is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well. Mies is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Diaz stays in close to Mies's body and controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Diaz looking to score a takedown here. Mies is defending well but Diaz drives through and ends up in Mies's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz lands a couple of digs. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Mies is keeping the position. Diaz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz wants to stand but Mies has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mies escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Diaz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Diaz looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz is looking to stand up but Mies won't let him. Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mies on the ground. Mies can't keep his opponent in guard - Diaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pereira Diaz dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Diaz has Mies up against the cage in a clinch.
Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Diaz decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz wants to stand up but Mies is controlling him. Diaz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Pereira Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mies preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mies passes Diaz's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mies is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position. Mies is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Diaz tries to roll over but Mies keeps him under control. Diaz is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Diaz is in trouble now - Mies has advanced to mount! Mies looking to control but Diaz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mies looking to isolate an arm here. Diaz doesn't see it coming and as Mies extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Mies!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pit Mies! Pit Mies decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
