Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rafael Carvalho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Skywalker!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Skywalker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carvalho scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Carvalho uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Skywalker.
Carvalho swings for the body but Skywalker moves out of range.
A nice side step and Skywalker releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Skywalker drops his hands momentarily and Carvalho takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Skywalker takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Carvalho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carvalho stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Carvalho counters with a stiff right hand.
Carvalho misses with a hook. Skywalker ducked under it nicely.
John Skywalker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carvalho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Carvalho closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Skywalker throws a body punch but Carvalho moves out of range.
It looked like Carvalho wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Skywalker missing with a left hand there. Carvalho was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carvalho tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Skywalker was well out of range. Poor timing from Carvalho.
Carvalho moves to clinch but Skywalker breaks away
and Skywalker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Carvalho lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Carvalho swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Skywalker counters with a right hand to the body.
Carvalho throws a predictable looking body shot
and Skywalker counters with a stiff right hand.
Carvalho scores with a sloppy right hand. Skywalker should have avoided that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Skywalker walks into a left hand.
Skywalker throws a body shot but no joy.
Skywalker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carvalho defending well as Skywalker loads up on a big left hand.
Skywalker throws a right hand that misses
and Carvalho connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Carvalho swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Good exchange - Skywalker coming out on top.
Carvalho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Skywalker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

so Carvalho counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Carvalho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skywalker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carvalho throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Skywalker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Carvalho throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Skywalker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Carvalho controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Skywalker tries to sprawl but Carvalho drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Carvalho is trying for a kimura here. Skywalker looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Carvalho wins by kimura!
