Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Dope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Dope! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Harper! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harper shoots for a takedown but Dope saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Harper showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dope.
Harper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dope sprawls well initially but Harper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Harper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dope wants to stand back up but Harper manages to pass into side control.
Harper in side control, just content to control the action for now. Harper trying to control the position but Dope is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper slows the pace down. Harper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dope keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dope can't do much from the bottom here. Dope is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dope tries to close the distance and clinch up but Harper swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dope takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Dope wants to clinch up but Harper keeps it at a distance. Harper moves out of range of the body kick from Dope.
Harper dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dope. That did some damage! Dope throws a combination. Harper tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Robert Harper has been cut. Harper pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dope is out of range and Harper settles back down. Harper throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Harper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Dope throws a wild body kick that Harper sees coming a mile off. Harper drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Harper trying to control but Dope is working from the bottom. Harper not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Harper trying to control but Dope is working from the bottom. Harper throwing strikes from guard but Dope blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Harper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Robert Harper's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Harper tries to close the distance and clinch but Dope swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Harper rushes Dope and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dope changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harper fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dope defending well as Harper loads up on a big left hand. Harper wants to clinch. Dope tries to clinch there but Harper circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harper shoots in and bounces Dope off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dope is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dope manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Harper manages to get himself to full guard.
Dope passes easily into side control. Nice work. Harper is looking for a sweep. Dope wants to stand but Harper has his arm trapped. Dope will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Harper struggling a bit here. Harper is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Harper is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Dope tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Harper.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Harper wants to clinch. Dope tries to clinch but fails miserably and Harper counters with a solid body kick. Dope darts in trying to clinch and Harper counters with a shoot takedown. Dope fights it but they end up in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harper sitting in guard, not really doing much. Dope wants to stand but Harper is controlling the position. Harper looking to sit in guard and control but Dope gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dope trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Harper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Robert Harper's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Dope wants to clinch and Harper counters with a single leg into guard. Dope didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harper trying to control but Dope is working from the bottom. Dope looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harper is one step ahead there. Dope not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper is stalling in the full guard. Dope is trying to keep Harper in close.
Harper trying to control the position from guard on top but Dope is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dope throws a nice looking combination but Harper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dope tries for a takedown but Harper sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Harper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Harper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Robert Harper has got the better of the ground game so far. Harper content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dope is squirming around, avoiding Harper's attempts to control the action. Harper won't let Dope get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Harper controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dope slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Matt Dope has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Harper is trying to control the action in half guard but Dope is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Harper controlling the pace. Dope trying to control here.
And that's the end of the fight! Robert Harper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
