Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larith Shun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
27 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, The Stig!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stig lands the left hand.
Stig works over Shun's head and body with a nice combination.
Shun with a poor takedown
and Stig connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shun shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Stig counters with an inside leg kick.
Stig sizes up Shun with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Shun with a poor takedown
and Stig counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Larith Shun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Shun with that takedown attempt.
Shun fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stig avoids it really well and circles away.
Shun shoots and misses
and Stig counters with a low kick, right behind Shun 's knee.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stig thumps Shun with a low kick.
Shun takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stig lands with a thumping leg kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Stig.
Shun shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Stig kicks off Shun and gets to his feet.
Shun is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The crowd cheers as Stig lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shun doesn't seem phased though.
Shun fails with the takedown
and Stig cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stig lands a nice looking body shot.
Shun walks into a left hand.
Shun walks into a jab.
Shun is rocked!
Shun takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Shun is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BAM! Stig delivers a spinning backfist that drops Shun like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). The Stig!
The Stig was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
