Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phad Mendes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Quintana! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mendes advances nicely into full mount. Quintana tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mendes cracks Quintana with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Quintana tries to lock up and control but Mendes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mendes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mendes looking to ground and pound but Quintana is blocking nicely. Mendes looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Mendes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Mendes raining down shots from the mount! Quintana is in a horrible position here. Mendes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
