The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lucia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aldo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lucia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aldo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aldo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Juan Aldo will probably get the nod.

and Aldo counters with a crisp one two that drops Lucia! Aldo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Lucia to his feet! Lucia is in big trouble!

Lucia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aldo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Aldo misses with a hook.
Lucia displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Aldo throws out the jab.

Lucia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aldo pinned against the cage. Aldo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lucia tries to close the distance and clinch but Aldo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benji Lucia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

It seemed like Lucia was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Aldo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
