Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matty Redert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
36 - 31 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Luiz! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redert lands a nice leg kick that just misses Luiz's sensitive parts. Redert lands a leg kick that knocks Luiz off balance momentarily. Luiz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redert moves away. Redert fakes the leg kick and cracks Luiz in the body. Luiz misses with a straight right. We've been told by Redert's head coaches at The Charles Martel School of Greatness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Redert avoids the body shot from Luiz.
Luiz gets tackled into the cage by Redert. Redert maintains the clinch. Redert scores with a shoulder strike. Luiz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Luiz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Redert throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Luizs head. Redert scores with an uppercut up the middle. Luiz is trying to force a seperation but Redert has the dominant position. Luiz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Luiz is trying to drag Redert to the mat but Redert just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Luiz tries to break free but Redert pushes him back against the cage. Luiz is trying to break the clinch but Redert is controlling him. Redert lands a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Redert. Luiz looks winded! Redert lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A right handed body shot lands from Redert.
Redert digs a right hand underneath Luiz's ribcage. Luiz let out a lung full of air as it connected. Redert lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Luiz backwards. Luiz has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Redert seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Luiz can turn it around. Redert lands with a left to the head. Redert working some nice short punches in the clinch. Redert lands a shot to the body. A nice right hand lands inside from Redert.
Luiz is rocked! Redert stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Luiz is still on wobbly legs! Can Redert finish him? Redert is working Luiz over against the cage. Redert lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Luiz to his knees! Redert keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
