Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bernard Torosyan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samuel Stephens! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stephens avoids the body shot from Torosyan.
Stephens takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Stephens tries to move into range but Torosyan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Torosyan lands a slapping body shot.
Stephens throws a head kick that misses and Torosyan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Stephens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torosyan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Torosyan taking punishment in the form of punches.
Stephens tries for a kimura but Torosyan is defending well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Torosyan can't do much from the bottom here. Torosyan parries the strikes from Stephens easily there. Stephens is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Torosyan to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Torosyan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Torosyan is trying to escape the position but Stephens is controlling the position. Torosyan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Stephens with a couple of short strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Torosyan keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Torosyan is in a horrible position here. Stephens smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Stephens avoids the attempt from Torosyan to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torosyan is trying desperately to improve position. Stephens throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Stephens has hold of Torosyan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Torosyan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Stephens putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Torosyan is trying to stand. Stephens content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torosyan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Stephens tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stephens looking to secure an arm triangle but Torosyan defends it well. Stephens is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Torosyan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stephens is working for a guillotine from mount but Torosyan frees his head quite easily.
Torosyan wants to hold on but Stephens pushes him away. Stephens working the ground and pound effectively.
Stephens controlling his opponent. Torosyan is looking to improve his position but Stephens isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samuel Stephens dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Stephens throws a right hand that Torosyan ducks under and follows up with a left that Torosyan also avoids with ease. Stephens gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Stephens looking to score a takedown here. Torosyan is defending well but Stephens drives through and ends up in Torosyan's guard. Torosyan is looking to stand back up but Stephens counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Torosyan. Stephens is controlling the pace.
Torosyan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Stephens jumps into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A lull in the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stephens has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stephens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Torosyan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Stephens moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Torosyan wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Stephens decides to stand up, so the ref orders Torosyan to his feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Torosyan. Stephens does a little dance to reset his feet. Stephens shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Torosyan as he avoids it easily. Torosyan scores with a nice head shot. Donk. Torosyan catches Stephens right on the button with a cross. Samuel Stephens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Torosyan cracks Stephens with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torosyan lands with a good body shot. Stephens uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Torosyan. Jab by Torosyan. Stephens has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stephens there as he acknowledges the shot. Torosyan lands with a right hand. Torosyan gets tackled into the cage by Stephens. Stephens maintains the clinch. Stephens keeps control of Torosyan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Torosyan swings wildly with an uppercut but Stephens uses good head movement to avoid it. Stephens has Torosyan pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stephens pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Torosyan tumbling to the mat - Stephens dives into Torosyan's guard. Torosyan wants to sweep here but Stephens controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stephens controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stephens stands up from Torosyan's guard - Stephens perhaps looking for a knockout. Torosyan gets caught napping as Stephens dives in and scores a takedown. Torosyan manages to retain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bernard Torosyan will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Stephens scores with a takedown into Torosyan's guard. Torosyan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stephens on the ground. Torosyan wants to stand and escape but Stephens is having none of it. Stephens's corner is telling him to maintain position. Stephens stopping the sweep attempt from Torosyan. Stephens sitting in guard, not really doing much. Stephens throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stephens controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stephens's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stephens takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Torosyan throws a series of strikes that have Stephens backpedaling.

and Stephens counters with a body kick that stops Torosyan in his tracks momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torosyan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Torosyan misses with a wild combination.
Stephens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torosyan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stephens controlling the position from side mount. Torosyan wants to control but Stephens postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stephens scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Torosyan to see if he's OK. Stephens goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Torosyan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stephens's guard! Nice work there by Torosyan! Torosyan looking to sit in guard and control but Stephens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Torosyan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Stephens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Stephens has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Stephens stops Torosyan from standing up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stephens controls from within his opponent's guard. Torosyan looking for a sweep. Not yet Torosyan, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bernard Torosyan. I think Torosyan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
