Mies's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Condemned 84 - Face the agression. Pit Mies has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Provodnikov dives in and scores a takedown into Mies's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mies looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Provodnikov postures up and lands a big shot to Mies's brow.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Provodnikov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mies swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Provodnikov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Provodnikov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mies manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Provodnikov keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Mies is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Mies in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Provodnikov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mies!

Pit Mies decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
