Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ape Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Montey McCracken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montey McCracken is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ape Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Montey McCracken!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCracken stuffs the takedown attempt from Diaz. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
McCracken throws a combination that misses

and Diaz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Diaz.
McCracken can't keep his opponent in guard - Diaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
McCracken desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCracken defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCracken is defending against the submission attempts here by Diaz.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Diaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McCracken doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Diaz.

Diaz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McCracken is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Diaz is looking for a kimura here.

Diaz is working for a kimura but McCracken is defending it quite comfortably.

Diaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ape Diaz dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCracken.
McCracken dips to his left and cracks Diaz with an uppercut!
Diaz defending well as McCracken loads up on a big left hand.
McCracken cracks Diaz with an open hand slap.
McCracken scores with a nice head shot.
Good standup being displayed there by McCracken as he connects with a hook.
McCracken misses with a hook.
McCracken throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diaz drops down looking for a counter takedown but McCracken sprawls and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Diaz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McCracken.
McCracken scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Diaz is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCracken is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Diaz flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Diaz is out cold! McCracken holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Montey McCracken!
