Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pearse Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pearse Mullen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Duncan Ferguson! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mullen with a poor takedown and Ferguson counters with a nice uppercut. Ferguson dips to his left and cracks Mullen with an uppercut! Mullen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mullen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ferguson thuds a left hand into Mullen's body. No luck for Mullen with that takedown attempt. Ferguson looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pearse Mullen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mullen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mullen tries to clinch there but Ferguson circles away.
Mullen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ferguson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mullen somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mullen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ferguson sizes up Mullen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Mullen misses with a straight left. Ferguson lands a nice shot that snaps Mullen's head back.
Mullen shoots in but Ferguson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ferguson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Mullen wants to clinch and Ferguson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mullen fails with the takedown and Ferguson counters with a nice body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mullen wants to clinch and Ferguson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Mullen is breathing heavily. Ferguson lands with a good body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ferguson slaps away a takedown attempt from Mullen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ferguson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mullen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Mullen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ferguson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ferguson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Mullen drops his hands momentarily and Ferguson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Mullen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ferguson counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd cheers as Ferguson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mullen doesn't seem phased though. Mullen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ferguson works Mullen's body with a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferguson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Ferguson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Mullen walks into a left hand. Mullen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mullen there as he acknowledges the shot. Ferguson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Mullen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ferguson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mullen in his tracks. Mullen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Mullen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ferguson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mullen. Mullen circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ferguson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mullen is rocked! Mullen wants to clinch and Ferguson counters with a nice right hand that sends Mullen toppling to the canvas! Mullen scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Ferguson finish him?! Oh Mullen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ferguson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mullen gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ferguson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Mullen is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duncan Ferguson!
