Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leon Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siggy Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber comes into the arena with Hamburg Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Leon Weber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Siggy Duncan! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Weber. Duncan tries to counter with a clinch but Weber shakes him off and moves away. Duncan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Duncan looks to land a combination but Weber avoids it well. Weber lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duncan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Duncan cracks Weber with a big right hand but Weber just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weber struggling a bit here. Duncan scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weber is not content to let Duncan control the position. Duncan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Weber has escaped the position, nice work there. Duncan is trying to ground and pound but Weber uses the momentary lack of control by Duncan to regain half guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Duncan working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Duncan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Duncan working over Weber with some ground and pound. Weber looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Duncan prevents Weber from improving his position. Duncan winds up and cracks Weber with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Weber actively working from the bottom here. Weber trying to hold on to Duncan's head to control him but Duncan postures up.
Ground and pound from Duncan. Weber controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Weber taking some punishment here, with Duncan in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duncan lands with a punch from half guard. Weber manages to get to full guard.
Weber has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Duncan doesn't defend quickly enough and Weber has managed to lock this one up! Can Duncan escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Weber on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Leon Weber! In his post fight interview, Leon Weber gave a big smile as he said 'He's a tough contender but he just can't stop my BJJ. Sorry man, you won't get a 3rd chance.'. Siggy Duncan spoke after the fight, saying 'I knew this was going to be a tough fight. But you gotta fight the best, to be the best. I'll be back. '.
