PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Howson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jervis Tetch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Howson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to TV Party by Black Flag. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Howson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jervis Tetch!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howson misses with a looping right.
Howson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tetch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Howson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tetch.
Tetch misses with a hook. Howson ducked under it nicely.
Tetch misses with a head kick.
Howson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Howson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Howson seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Howson misses with a leg kick
and Tetch counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Howson looks to land a right hand but Tetch moved out of range.
Dan Howson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howson cracks Tetch with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Howson scores with a jab to the body.
A jab lands there for Tetch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Howson throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Tetch to counter with a crisp jab.
Tetch throws a big shot that misses.
Tetch thumps Howson with a low kick.
Howson misses with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tetch moves out of range of the strikes.
Howson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Howson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tetch.
Tetch moves forwards but Howson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Howson blocks a low kick nicely.
Howson missing with a left hand there. Tetch was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Howson blocks a leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Howson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tetch has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tetch and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tetch throws out a powerful jab.
Tetch on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Howson. Howson obviously looking to wear him down.
Nice defenses there by Tetch.
Howson scores with a shot to the body.
Howson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tetch.
Howson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Tetch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tetch throws out a leg kick but Howson moves out of range and Tetch only half commits.
A head kick by Tetch misses
and Howson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Tetch on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Tetch pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Howson tries to close the distance and clinch but Tetch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tetch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Howson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice shot lands for Tetch.
A leg kick checked by Tetch.
Tetch avoids the head kick by Howson.
Howson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Howson throws a leg kick which misses Tetch's front leg but catches the back leg as Tetch tries to avoid it.
Tetch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Howson.
Tetch throws a leg kick that is checked
and Howson counters with a stiff right hand.

Some bone on bone action there as Tetch checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Howson lands a jab.

Howson tries to clinch up.
Tetch moves out of range of the body kick.
Howson's corner calls for a 1-2. Howson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A jab from Howson finds it's way through Tetch's defenses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Howson scores with a shot to the side of Tetch's head.


Tetch is rocked!
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tetch.
Tetch is still on wobbly legs! Can Howson finish him?
Howson pushes Tetch against the cage. Howson is working some dirty boxing. Howson pushes off with a quick right hook! Tetch goes down! Tetch tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Howson moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Howson!

Dan Howson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
