Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Ruth!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruth misses with a lunging right hand
and Dassler counters with a stiff right hand.
Dassler with a poor takedown
and Ruth counters with a stiff right hand.
Ruth gets a double leg takedown into Dassler's guard.
Dassler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ruth defends well.
Ruth working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dassler's head.
Ruth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dassler's head.
Ruth distracts Dassler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ruth scoring with punches to the head and body.
Dassler is rocked!
Dassler seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Dassler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ruth defends well.
Oh Dassler is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dassler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dassler seems to have got his legs back now.
Ruth chips away with some ground and pound.

Ruth with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ruth is in close to Dassler's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ruth gets to his feet and stands over Dassler, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Dassler felt that one! Ruth unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Dassler from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Ruth!
