PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ethan DuVall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kraisingha Rattanakosin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kraisingha Rattanakosin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ethan DuVall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kraisingha Rattanakosin!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rattanakosin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rattanakosin looks to land a combination but DuVall avoids it well.
Rattanakosin tries to close the distance and clinch up but DuVall swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rattanakosin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rattanakosin throws a one two combo.
DuVall wants to clinch.

DuVall closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This has been an exciting period of action!
DuVall tries to score with some ground and pound. Rattanakosin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

DuVall decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rattanakosin to his feet.
Rattanakosin throws a series of punches but DuVall avoids them all with ease.

DuVall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. DuVall showed some decent athleticism there.
DuVall landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DuVall keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
DuVall missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
DuVall is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

DuVall escapes and gets back to his feet.
Kraisingha Rattanakosin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rattanakosin lands a front kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Danga de danga de dang - Rattanakosin scores with a four punch combination!
Rattanakosin slips a jab and a cross from DuVall.
Rattanakosin lunges at DuVall with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by DuVall's hand.
Rattanakosin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
DuVall blocks a head kick by Rattanakosin.
DuVall throws a leg kick but Rattanakosin sees it coming and moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by DuVall.
Rattanakosin is being controlled here.
DuVall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

DuVall decides to stand back up. DuVall steps back and let's Rattanakosin get back to his feet.
Rattanakosin scores with a hook to the body. DuVall takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rattanakosin misses with a series of wild punches.
Rattanakosin tries to clinch there but DuVall circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rattanakosin pivots, looking for a leg kick but DuVall is out of range and Rattanakosin settles back down.
Kraisingha Rattanakosin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DuVall fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rattanakosin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Rattanakosin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

DuVall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rattanakosin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

DuVall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rattanakosin, who protects the arm well.
Rattanakosin defending against the ground and pound.
Rattanakosin takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
DuVall moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kraisingha Rattanakosin will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



DuVall closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rattanakosin wants to get back to his feet but DuVall is dominant here and he's now got Rattanakosin's back!
DuVall lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by DuVall.
DuVall really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Rattanakosin.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DuVall is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Rattanakosin taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from DuVall.
