Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Powers tries a head kick but it misses.
Powers throws a nice looking combination but Daly bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Daly throws a head kick but Powers moves out of range.
Daly tries to clinch but fails miserably and Powers counters with a single leg into guard. Daly didn't expect that. Daly pulls Powers in close to prevent any damage. Daly controls Powers momentarily but Powers frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powers drops back looking for a leg! Daly is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Daly manages to kick Powers off! Powers jumps back into Daly's guard. Powers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daly is adopting a defensive guard. Daly has momentary wrist control but Powers slips an elbow through the middle. Daly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Powers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Powers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Daly, up you get! Daly throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Powers stuffs the takedown. Daly misses with a body shot.
As Daly looks to move away, Powers throws a big counter combo but Daly just gets out of the way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daly throws a leg kick and Powers counters with a single leg into guard. Daly didn't expect that. Daly is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Powers dives into side control.
Daly is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Powers is chipping away with strikes.
Daly tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Powers controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powers with a couple of short strikes. Daly swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Daly wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Powers not allowing Daly to control his hands. Powers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Daly defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Powers's arms. Powers controlling well, preventing Daly from escaping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daly tries to escape but Powers has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Daly trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Powers is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
You can see the frustration on Daly's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A low kick from Daly is predictable there and Powers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Daly won't be happy with that. Powers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Daly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Powers scoring with punches and elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powers wants to control but Daly is keeping him busy. Daly is looking for a sweep. Powers stands up and beckons Daly to his feet.

Powers has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Daly jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Daly shoots in but no luck this time. Powers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Powers stuffs the takedown attempt from Daly. Daly gets slowly back to his feet. Powers lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daly circles away quickly and effectively. Powers leaves Daly with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Angel Powers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Daly. Daly is breathing heavily. Daly connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Powers circles away from the clinch attempt and Powers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Daly's guard. Daly wants to get back to his feet but Powers passes into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powers not doing much here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Powers trying to control from half guard but Daly is working away. Powers is trying to work for a kimura but Daly is defending well.

Powers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Daly defends it well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Powers lands a nice short elbow. Daly is looking for a sweep. Powers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Powers is taking a breather. Daly says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Powers is trying to work for a kimura but Daly is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Powers is looking to take a break and control but Daly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Daly is trying to stand.

Powers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Daly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Daly has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Powers is working away from the top position though. Powers with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Daly tries to roll over but Powers keeps him under control. Powers wants to take a breather but Daly is having none of it. Powers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daly is looking for a sweep. Powers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

And that's the end of the fight! Angel Powers showed his dominance in that final round. Well Powers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
