Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Wellman Iv!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kelvin Bang!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bang slips under a jab from Wellman Iv.
Wellman Iv misses with a body shot.
Wellman Iv throws a right and a left that Bang avoids nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Wellman Iv. Those never looked like landing.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bang.
Wellman Iv swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wellman Iv on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Bang darts in and clinches Wellman Iv up against the cage.

Bang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bang takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wellman Iv has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Wreckshop in the buildup to the fight.
Wellman Iv throws a hook but Bang blocks it.
Bang tries to close the distance and clinch but Wellman Iv swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bang throws a head kick but Wellman Iv moves out of range.
Wellman Iv tries a low kick but Bang avoids it.

Bang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bang lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wellman Iv swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wellman Iv wants to sweep but no luck.
Bang throws a big right hand that misses.
Wellman Iv controls Bang momentarily but Bang frees himself.
Bang throws a big elbow that misses.
Bang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bang postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bang creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wellman Iv sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bang controlling the position from side mount.
Wellman Iv tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wellman Iv is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bang connects with a decent elbow.
An elbow from Bang crashes against the mat.
Wellman Iv is trying to work for a sweep but Bang has mounted him!
Bang with a couple of short strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bang thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Wellman Iv slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Bang is taking a breather. Wellman Iv says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Wellman Iv tries to roll over but Bang keeps him under control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wellman Iv avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bang.
Well, if Bang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wellman Iv trying to hold on to Bang's head to control him but Bang postures up.
Bang controlling the action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wellman Iv wants to get back to full guard but Bang has mounted him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kelvin Bang dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fighters circling - Wellman Iv throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bang walks into a left hand.
Wellman Iv scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Bang blocks a jab.
Wellman Iv swings for the body but Bang moves out of range.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Bang.
A head kick misses from Bang.
Bang connects with a right hand. Wellman Iv shakes it off.
Wellman Iv checks a leg kick.
Wellman Iv misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bang fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wellman Iv manages to avoid it.
Bang tries to clinch but Wellman Iv moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wellman Iv scores with a jab to the body.
Wellman Iv lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Bang throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wellman Iv throws a hook but Bang avoids it easily.
We've been informed that Bang has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Bang fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Shane Wellman Iv is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bang fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wellman Iv looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bang connects with a solid leg kick.
Wellman Iv throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bang sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wellman Iv uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bang.
Wellman Iv stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wellman Iv wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bang.
A quick step to the side and Wellman Iv tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shane Wellman Iv has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kelvin Bang.
Bang tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wellman Iv misses with a looping left.
Wellman Iv avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bang checks a leg kick.
Bang misses with a head kick.
It looked like Wellman Iv wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bang connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Wellman Iv swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shane Wellman Iv is winning the standup battle so far.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bang.

Wellman Iv drops his hands momentarily and Bang takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Bang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wellman Iv scores with a jab. Bang acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wellman Iv loads up on a big right hand but Bang slips the punch.
Bang bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kelvin Bang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bang or perhaps it was just good defense by Wellman Iv, which made it look bad.
Wellman Iv lands a nice shot to the body.
Wellman Iv bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bang's head.
Bang shoots in and drives through. Wellman Iv sprawls well.
Wellman Iv connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wellman Iv scores with a sloppy right hand. Bang should have avoided that one.

Wellman Iv is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bang.
Bang lunges at Wellman Iv with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wellman Iv's hand.

and Bang counters with a takedown into side control.
Bang creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wellman Iv sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bang wants to control but Wellman Iv is keeping him busy.
Wellman Iv tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wellman Iv wants to control but Bang postures up.
Bang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bang is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wellman Iv will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Wellman Iv throws a shot from downtown. Bang moves away and avoids it.
Bang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wellman Iv.

Bang goes for a double leg but Wellman Iv avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wellman Iv continues to drive forward.

Bang closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bang looking to break Wellman Iv's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Wellman Iv remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bang will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Wellman Iv postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

I would just about give that final round to Kelvin Bang.
I've got Bang winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
