Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kevin Thompson and Ste Jones. This should be fireworks!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kevin Thompson! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ste Jones!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Thompson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones can't get the takedown.

Thompson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Thompson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thompson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Thompson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.
Thompson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thompson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Thompson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thompson has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Jones is in real trouble here. Thompson gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Jones is tapping out! Thompson wins by rear naked choke!
