Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Riff Jetson and Ansgar Kundsen. Ansgar Kundsen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Riff Jetson! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ansgar Kundsen! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jetson tightens his grip and picks Kundsen up, before dumping him to the ground. Kundsen manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Jetson (2) vs (0) Kundsen Kundsen looking for a sweep. Not yet Kundsen, not yet. Jetson looking to sit in guard and control but Kundsen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kundsen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jetson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kundsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kundsen has the hooks in. Jetson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Well, with Kundsen on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Jetson is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Kundsen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Kundsen is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jetson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. That's five minutes gone in the round. Jetson trying to control but not successfully. What can Jetson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
You can see the frustration on Jetson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Let's hope that Kundsen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kundsen tries to keep control of the position but Jetson is staying busy.

Kundsen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jetson is just riding it out for now. Kundsen eventually gives up the hold. Kundsen wants to take a breather but Jetson is having none of it. Kundsen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Kundsen prevents Jetson from improving his position. Well, if Kundsen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

And that's the end of the fight! Kundsen wins on points by 14 to 6. A relieved looking Ansgar Kundsen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
