Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Miguel Machin and Demarte Pena. Machin comes to the cage accompanied by Pandora's Music Box. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Miguel Machin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Demarte Pena! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pena doesn't manage to clinch there - Machin circles away.
Machin tries to counter with a takedown but Pena is quick to defend against it. Pena forces Machin back against the cage and clinches. Machin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pena regains guard.
Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Machin (2) vs (0) Pena The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machin stopping the sweep attempt from Pena. Machin sitting in guard, not really doing much. Machin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Machin (5) vs (0) Pena Machin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Pena is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Miguel Machin! Miguel Machin spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
