Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Helio Kimura and Todd Duffee. Todd Duffee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 4 losses; Helio Kimura! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Todd Duffee! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Kimura tries to keep at a distance but Duffee has taken the fight into the clinch. Duffee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kimura walks away with a smile on his face. Duffee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Duffee drives through and clinches with Kimura against the cage.
Kimura is looking for a takedown. Kimura jumps into guard, dragging Duffee to the mat.
Duffee passes into half guard. Kimura wants to control but Duffee is keeping busy and won't allow it. Duffee is taking a breather. Kimura says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kimura wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duffee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

My spies in Sydney Shootfighting inform me that Duffee has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Duffee might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kimura haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Duffee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kimura doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Duffee. Duffee wants to work for an arm triangle but Kimura is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

He hasn't managed just yet though. Duffee seems to be looking for submissions.

Kimura has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Duffee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Duffee drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kimura manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Duffee has Kimura in his guard. You can see the frustration on Duffee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kimura wants to control but Duffee is keeping him busy.

Kimura is looking to take a break and control but Duffee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kimura happy to just control the position for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Duffee manages to get back to half guard.
