Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lonny Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Punzalan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wyatt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Punzalan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wyatt is in Punzalan's guard.
Wyatt wants to stand but Punzalan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Wyatt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Wyatt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Punzalan sprawls well initially but Wyatt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Punzalan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wyatt pulls his head out easily.

Wyatt seems to be looking for submissions.
Wyatt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wyatt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Punzalan.
Punzalan is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wyatt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wyatt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Punzalan.

Wyatt is looking for a kimura but Punzalan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wyatt to get the leverage.

Wyatt stands up and beckons Punzalan to join him on the feet.

Wyatt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Punzalan is working an open guard so Wyatt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Wyatt shoots in and gets a takedown into Punzalan's guard.
Wyatt is breathing heavily.

Punzalan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wyatt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Punzalan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Wyatt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Punzalan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wyatt has managed to get both his arms back between Punzalan's legs - danger averted.
Wyatt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wyatt stands up and waves to Punzalan to follow him.

Wyatt manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Punzalan on his heels. He'll look to pass Punzalan's guard now, I'm sure.

Wyatt wanted to stand there but Punzalan had control of the position.

Punzalan is looking for a triangle but Wyatt pushes his legs off easily.

Wyatt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Punzalan, up you get!

Wyatt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wyatt lands in his opponent's guard.

Wyatt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Wyatt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wyatt showed some decent athleticism there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wyatt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Wyatt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Punzalan sees it coming and defends easily.

Wyatt is sitting in close to Punzalan's body. Punzalan has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Wyatt is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Wyatt is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Punzalan.
