Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Hargh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hargh has chosen Dominant view as his entrance music. Ken Hargh has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Edgar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Hargh !
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar misses with a double jab.
Hargh fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hargh misses with a combination

and Edgar counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Edgar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hargh had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Edgar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hargh Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Edgar's back instead.
Hargh doesn't have the hooks in and Edgar manages to turn into his guard.

Hargh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edgar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Edgar wants to control from the top but Hargh keeps moving.
Hargh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Edgar misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Edgar is not content to let Hargh control the position.
Hargh prevents Edgar from improving his position.
Edgar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Edgar tries to get out of the position.
Hargh wants to take a breather but Edgar is having none of it.
Edgar wants to get back to full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Edgar is refusing to be controlled, as Hargh sits in half guard.
Edgar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hargh throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hargh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edgar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Edgar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hargh manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hargh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edgar throws a strike but Hargh rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Edgar is looking for a triangle but Hargh pushes his legs off easily.
Edgar is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Edgar can't keep his opponent in guard - Hargh advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Edgar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hargh on the ground.

Hargh is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Edgar wants to control but Hargh is keeping busy.

Hargh is looking for a kimura here.

Hargh decides to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hargh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ken Hargh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edgar takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Edgar takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A telegraphed right hand from Hargh misses the target.
Some wild striking there from Hargh .
Hargh looks to land a combination. Edgar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Edgar looks for a takedown but Hargh sprawls well.
Edgar avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hargh stalks Edgar and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Edgar's face. Edgar staggers backwards, shaken.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ken Hargh will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hargh swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Edgar counters with a thumping low kick.
Hargh lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hargh .

Edgar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hargh lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Edgar!
Edgar tries to lock up and control but Hargh gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Edgar is looking to improve his position but Hargh isn't that keen on the idea.
Hargh works his way to his opponent's back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Edgar is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hargh gets his way!

Edgar is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hargh working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Edgar turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hargh off and cradles Edgar's limp body as Hargh celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ken Hargh !
