Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Ching!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neil Adams!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ching looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Adams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Ching. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ching.
Ching throws a right hand that Adams ducks under and follows up with a left that Adams also avoids with ease.

Adams drives through with a takedown into guard.

Adams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ching dives on top into guard.

Adams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Adams avoids the head kick by Ching.
Adams closes the distance and clinches up with Ching, looking for a takedown. Adams pushes Ching against the cage but Ching circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Adams had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ching is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Adams Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ching's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ching defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adams can do anything to dispel that myth.

Adams throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ching uses it to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ching trying to control the action but Adams is working from the bottom.

Adams is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ching defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Ching is trying to get back to his feet but Adams has full control of the position and if anything, Ching has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Ching is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Adams is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ching has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Adams looking to break Ching's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ching remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Adams will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ching is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Adams gets his way!

Neil Adams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It looks like Neil Adams has been cut.
Adams takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ching moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off.
Ching tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Adams fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chris Ching has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neil Adams.

Adams is looking for a kimura but Ching is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adams to get the leverage.
