The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sympson with a poor takedown
and Reegs counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sympson won't be happy with that.
Sympson misses with a strike from the bottom.
Reegs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sympson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Reegs working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sympson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Reegs's best efforts.
