Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Myers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Glenn Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Myers!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rogers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A low kick from Rogers misses
and Myers counters with a left and a right that stings Rogers.

Rogers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Myers!

Myers throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Rogers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A head kick misses from Myers.
Glenn Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Myers gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rogers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rogers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Myers for as long as he can get away with.

Rogers lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Rogers drops back looking for a leg! Myers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Myers manages to kick Rogers off! Rogers jumps back into Myers's guard.
Myers has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rogers has passed into side control.

Rogers decides to stand up, so the ref orders Myers to his feet.
Myers fails in his attempt to clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Myers tries to clinch but Rogers is having none of it.
Rogers tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Myers manages to circle out of the way.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rogers is defended easily by Myers.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rogers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rogers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rogers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rogers stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rogers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Myers's guard.

Myers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rogers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Glenn Rogers will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rogers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Rogers has Myers up against the cage in a clinch.
Rogers is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Myers is defending well for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers manages to break the clinch.

Rogers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Myers's half guard.

Myers looking for a kimura from the bottom but Rogers passes into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Myers is trying to control Rogers's posture but Rogers avoids it.
Rogers controls the position.
Glenn Rogers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rogers continues to stall.
Rogers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Myers can do to turn this around?
Rogers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
More hug and hope from Rogers.

Rogers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rogers takes a little break here. Myers wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Myers is trying to improve his position.
Rogers just content to control the position.

Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Myers, who protects the arm well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rogers stands up and we're back to a striking position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Myers enables Rogers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Myers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rogers controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Myers has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rogers off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glenn Rogers dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Rogers scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Myers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rogers shoots in but no luck this time.

Rogers decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Myers kicks off Rogers and gets to his feet.

Myers closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rogers quickly recovers to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rogers manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Myers keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Rogers wants to get back to striking at distance but Myers won't allow it.

Rogers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sloppy strikes from Rogers. Those never looked like landing.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Myers tries to roll over but Rogers keeps him under control.
Rogers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Rogers wants to work for an arm triangle but Myers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Myers wants to get back to full guard but Rogers has mounted him!

Rogers controlling from the full mount.

Rogers get's back to his feet.

Rogers tries to keep at a distance but Myers has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rogers just misses with a elbow thrown towards Myers's brow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rogers lands an elbow inside that Myers shrugs off.
Rogers throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Rogers misses with a body punch.
Myers tries a knee to the head but Rogers blocks it.
Rogers working hard to break the clinch.
Myers looking to throw knees to the head but Rogers is blocking nicely.

Myers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rogers uses from the top position.
Rogers chips away with some ground and pound.

Myers is working an open guard so Rogers takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jason Myers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Glenn Rogers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Myers throws a head kick that misses.

Glenn Rogers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rogers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
