Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winnie Pooh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luciano Maciel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luciano Maciel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Winnie Pooh's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Winnie Pooh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luciano Maciel! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pooh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Pooh wants to control from the top but Maciel keeps moving. Pooh being controlled here momentarily. Maciel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pooh wants to control from the top but Maciel keeps moving. Maciel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Pooh is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Maciel told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pooh wants to pass the guard but Maciel is keeping the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pooh scores with a body shot.
Maciel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maciel shoots in for a takedown but Pooh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pooh is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Maciel. Maciel instigates a clinch. Pooh gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Pooh looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Pooh trying to control but Maciel is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pooh looking to sit in guard and control but Maciel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Pooh is trying to keep Maciel in close.

Pooh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maciel is one step ahead there. Pooh looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maciel works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pooh looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pooh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've been hearing good reports from Pooh's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Maciel is working for a kimura but Pooh is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pooh tries to get to full guard but Maciel has control of the leg. Maciel is working for a kimura but Pooh is defending it quite comfortably.

Pooh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pooh is concentrating on defense, preventing Maciel from advancing position. Maciel is looking to take a break and control but Pooh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Winnie Pooh will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pooh wants to clinch. Maciel tries to clinch up but Pooh circles away and keeps his distance. Maciel shoots and misses and Pooh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pooh is looking for a kimura but Maciel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pooh to get the leverage. Pooh seems to be working for a kimura but Maciel defends the submission attempt. Pooh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maciel defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maciel is refusing to be controlled, as Pooh sits in half guard. Pooh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pooh prevents Maciel from improving his position. Pooh decides to return to a standing position. Pooh darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Maciel pushes Pooh off but Pooh dives into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maciel is not content to let Pooh control the position. Pooh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pooh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Maciel struggling a bit here. Pooh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maciel has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pooh but great work by Maciel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maciel wants to control but Pooh is keeping him busy. Pooh prevents Maciel from moving into mount. You can see the frustration on Pooh's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Maciel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pooh down.
Maciel connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pooh some visible discomfort.
Pooh is looking for a sweep. Maciel has control of an arm but Pooh manages to advance to Maciel's back! Pooh has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Maciel has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Pooh tightening his grip on Maciel, looking for the choke. Pooh is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Maciel knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Maciel for a finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pooh has the hooks in. Maciel is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Pooh looking to break Maciel's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Maciel remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pooh will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Pooh has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Pooh is working for a rear naked choke. Maciel is not defending it well and Pooh has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Maciel refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Maciel's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Winnie Pooh!
