Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and leo viera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). viera has chosen real thugs as his entrance music. Jon Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones scoring well with a low kick there.
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones misses with a double jab.
Jones tries to clinch there but viera circles away.
viera dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones lands a left and a right that sends viera crashing to the canvas! Jones dives into mount looking to finish!
viera is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones controlling the pace for now.
viera is still in real trouble! Can Jones finish him?
Jones tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
viera seems to have recovered his senses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

viera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but viera is holding on tight.

Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
viera tries to lock up and control but Jones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

viera is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
Jones wants to stand up but viera is controlling the position.
Jones decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jon Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
viera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jones. That's going to slow viera down.
Jones throws a series of punches but viera moves out of range.
Jones misses with a head kick.
viera steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jones. That one must have hurt.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
viera has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jones throws a right hand that viera ducks under and follows up with a left that viera also avoids with ease.
viera swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jones, right into the meat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones wants to stand but viera is controlling the position.
viera is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but viera dives into side control.

Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Jones takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
viera trying to control the position but Jones is working away.

Jones pushes viera away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, viera gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones misses with a leg kick.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nice straight punches there by viera. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of viera.
viera shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Jones scores with a one two! viera had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A head kick misses from Jones.

Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
viera shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Jon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of leo viera.
viera fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jones tries to clinch up but viera circles away and keeps his distance.
viera closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - viera lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones wants to stand but viera is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. viera is lucky that one didn't land flush.
viera shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
A head kick from Jones lands but viera takes it in his stride.

and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jones throws a left and a right that both miss
and viera counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!

Jones is squirming around, avoiding viera's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
viera stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
viera shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones wants to stand back up but viera manages to pass into side control.

Jones is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if viera gets his way!

viera is persistently looking for the submission but Jones is defending it well.

leo viera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
