Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Key moves out of range of the body kick from Tate.
Key steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tate.

Tate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Key moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tate fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Tate looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tate shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Key but Key pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Key closes the distance and clinches up with Tate, looking for a takedown. Key pushes Tate against the cage but Tate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tate misses with an uppercut. Key saw that one coming.

Tate clobbers Key with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Horrible takedown by Key or perhaps it was just good defense by Tate which made him look bad.

Tate could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Key changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tate tries to avoid it but Key manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tate to the ground. Tate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jason Tate.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
