Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Melcone Aisa and James Krause. The crowd seem to be enjoying Krause's choice of entrance music: Heart of a Champion. Melcone Aisa had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Melcone Aisa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; James Krause! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Krause shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aisa as he jumps to the side. Aisa closes the distance and clinches. Krause jumps guard.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Krause is looking for a triangle here but Aisa uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Krause is desperately trying to improve his position but Aisa has a good base and remains in mount. Aisa is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Krause is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Krause tries to get back to half guard but can't. Krause regains half guard. Krause is trying to maintain the position but Aisa is very close to passing his half guard. Aisa wants to free his trapped foot but Krause is holding on for dear life with his legs. Krause is controlling Aisa's position as best he can from this difficult position. Well, if Aisa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Krause is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Krause is trying to get back to full guard.

Aisa stalling. Krause gets full guard. Krause throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Aisa escapes and throws Krause's legs to the side, diving into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Aisa (19) vs (0) Krause Krause manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Aisa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Krause has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aisa is working away from the top position though. Aisa prevents Krause from improving his position. The fighters are battling for position here. Krause manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Aisa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aisa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Aisa stays in close to Krause's body and controls the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Aisa won't allow Krause to sweep him here.
And that's the end of the fight! Aisa takes the fight on points by 19 to 0. Melcone Aisa seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. James Krause was interviewed post fight and said 'I want a rematch. I'll beat him in the next one, just as I did with everyone who was lucky enough to beat me in Highland Games.'. |
