Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Dalton! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kicker! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kicker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I was talking to Dalton's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kicker misses with a punch on the inside.

Kicker throws a punch but it's blocked by Dalton. Dalton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kicker backwards. Dalton working some nice short punches in the clinch. Nice body punch from Dalton - that landed with a thud.
Kicker's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kicker lands a nice shot to the body. Kicker tries to work over Dalton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kicker lands with a short head shot on the inside. Dalton softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Dalton tries a body shot but Kicker blocks it.
Kicker swings wildly with an uppercut but Dalton uses good head movement to avoid it. A shot in the inside from Dalton. Kicker tries a body shot but Dalton blocks it.
Kicker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Dalton throws a head punch that misses. Dalton is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Dalton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kicker. Dalton dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Kicker misses with a shot to the kidneys.

James Kicker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A solid body kick from Dalton. Kicker is looking to clinch. Left hook, right uppercut from Kicker. Dalton jabs Kicker to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kicker throws a jab but it's blocked by Dalton. Kicker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dalton steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kicker. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dalton throws a nice inside leg kick. Kicker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kicker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kicker throws a combination that misses and Dalton counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kicker wants to clinch. We've been informed that Kicker has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kicker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dalton circles away quickly and effectively. A jab from Kicker misses. Dalton scores with a nice body kick.
Dalton jabs at Kicker's body. Nice cross by Dalton. Dalton moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kicker throws a shot from downtown. Dalton moves away and avoids it. Dalton tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kicker manages to circle out of the way. Dalton lands with a nice body punch. Kicker looks winded! Dalton slips a straight right by Kicker. Nice body kick from Dalton. Kicker chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dalton can pounce on him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dalton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kicker.
Dalton throws a front kick that sends Kicker stumbling back into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Dalton dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kicker takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dalton with a body punch. A glancing blow. A decent looking cross lands there for Dalton. Kicker has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Dalton. Kicker tries to bum rush Dalton with a series of wild strikes but Dalton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nick Dalton is winning the standup battle so far. Kicker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dalton. Dalton appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Danga de danga de dang - Dalton scores with a four punch combination! Dalton bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. James Kicker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dalton lands a body shot.
Kicker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Dalton looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dalton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kicker.
Kicker throws a right and a left that Dalton avoids nicely. Kicker darts in trying to clinch letting Dalton counter with a right hand. Dalton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kicker can do to turn this around? Kicker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dalton counters with a thumping low kick. Kicker is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dalton slips a jab and a cross from Kicker.
Kicker misses with a jab, cross combination.
A jab from Dalton does it's job there. Kicker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dalton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kicker is rocked! Dalton lands a jab to Kicker's midsection. Kicker is still on wobbly legs! Can Dalton finish him? Dalton drives through and clinches with Kicker against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dalton takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dalton working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dalton creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Kicker's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Kicker drops to his knees and Dalton pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Dalton! Nick Dalton retains his welterweight title! James Kicker spoke after the fight, saying 'Looks like I *kicked* my habit of winning'.
