Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russell Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Culver Crimson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crimson throws a right and a left that Wallace avoids nicely.
Crimson throws a head kick but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Crimson checks it well.
Wallace blocks a head kick by Crimson.
It looked like Wallace wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Wallace looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Crimson throws a head kick that Wallace semi-blocks.
Wallace ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crimson moves away.
Crimson throws a right and a left that Wallace avoids nicely.
Crimson is looking to slow Wallace down with leg kicks.
Wallace shoots for a takedown but Crimson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Crimson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wallace was well out of range. Poor timing from Crimson.
Crimson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wallace counters with a straight right hand.
Wallace has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Marijuana Gardens in the buildup to the fight.
Crimson throws a right hand that Wallace ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallace also avoids with ease.
Crimson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wallace eats them both and turns towards Crimson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crimson throws a sloppy head kick and Wallace moves out of range easily.

Wallace scores with a takedown into Crimson's guard.
Crimson wants to stand and escape but Wallace is having none of it.

Wallace is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Crimson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Culver Crimson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wallace blocks a head kick by Crimson.

It looks like Culver Crimson has been cut.
Wallace listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Crimson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wallace - the referee stops the clock and Crimson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wallace. Crimson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Culver Crimson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
No joy there for Crimson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wallace moves out of range of the body kick from Crimson.
Wallace lets loose with a powerful body kick. Crimson will feel that in the morning.

Wallace moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wallace throws a front kick aimed at Crimson's knee but Crimson avoids it well.
Wallace throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Wallace closes the distance and pushes Crimson back into the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Crimson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Wallace dodges an elbow strike from Crimson.

That was a close round but I would say that Russell Wallace will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crimson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wallace back to the cage. Crimson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Wallace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Crimson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wallace wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crimson, who protects the arm well.
Wallace lands an elbow.
Crimson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wallace clobbers Crimson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Crimson pushes Wallace away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wallace gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Crimson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Wallace wants to control but Crimson is keeping him busy.

Wallace's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
