Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raine Lovelair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raine Lovelair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek David! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lovelair scores with a jab to the body. Lovelair misses with a wild combination.
David doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lovelair counters with a series of strikes. David will be more careful next time no doubt. Lovelair throws a right and a left that both miss. David gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lovelair counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David darts in and clinches Lovelair up against the cage. David is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Lovelair lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Derek David has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice left hand lands by Lovelair.

David tries for a takedown but Lovelair manages to get underhooks.
I was talking to Lovelair's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Raine Lovelair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek David. Lovelair blocks the elbow strike.
David looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. David's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! David working hard to break the clinch. Lovelair putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has David in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. David looks winded! Lovelair connects with a knee to the head.
Lovelair lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of David backwards. Lovelair has David pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. David is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Lovelair - that's hurt David badly! Oh, another knee lands and David is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but David doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Raine Lovelair!
