Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darrell Rutledge!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaquero shoots for a takedown but Rutledge saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vaquero fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vaquero.

Vaquero avoids the head kick by Rutledge.

Rutledge has Vaquero pulled in close to control his posture.
Vaquero looking to sit in guard and control but Rutledge gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Vaquero wants to control the position but Rutledge says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Vaquero is trying to get back to full guard.
Vaquero is looking to control Rutledge's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vaquero avoid being mounted?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vaquero looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Rutledge puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that El Raton Vaquero will probably get the nod.
That's time! Vaquero's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vaquero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rutledge is fending him off so far but Vaquero persists. Nope, Rutledge circles away and we're back to standing.
Vaquero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rutledge tries to avoid it but Vaquero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rutledge to the ground. Rutledge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vaquero shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rutledge keeps the fight on the outside.
Vaquero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rutledge's waist but Rutledge gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vaquero off to one side.

Rutledge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rutledge moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rutledge fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vaquero, pushing him back against the cage.

Rutledge lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vaquero backwards.
Rutledge gets through Vaquero's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Rutledge prevents the takedown attempt.
Vaquero tries to score a body lock takedown but Rutledge shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rutledge's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rutledge is looking to slow Vaquero down with leg kicks.
Vaquero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vaquero takes a knee right on the jaw!
A bit of stalling here from Rutledge.
Rutledge throws a big uppercut that drops Vaquero! More strikes from Rutledge and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Vaquero lies dazed against the cage as Rutledge celebrates with his cornermen!
