Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hu Thot!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Thot throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Thot gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Davis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thot dives on top into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thot postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Davis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thot is aware though and is defending well.
Thot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thot has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.
Thot looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thot manages to get himself to full guard.
Thot pulls Davis in to control the position.
Davis wants to control from the top but Thot keeps moving.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Thot is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thot is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thot has escaped and now he's on top!
Thot scoring with some ground and pound.
Thot scoring with punches to the head and body.
Thot drops back looking for a leg! Davis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davis manages to kick Thot off! Thot jumps back into Davis's guard.
Davis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thot passes into side control.
Thot has hold of Davis's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Davis seems comfortable defending it but Thot has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Davis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Davis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Thot couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hu Thot!
