Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodrick Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ryzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrick Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Ryzon!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryzon misses with the combination.
As Ryzon tries to get set, Kidd tries to push him back and clinch up but Ryzon manages to avoid the attempt.
Kidd avoids the head kick by Ryzon.
Kidd feinted with a counter takedown.
Kidd shoots in looking for a takedown but Ryzon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kidd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Joe Ryzon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kidd closes the distance and clinches up with Ryzon, looking for a takedown. Kidd pushes Ryzon against the cage but Ryzon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ryzon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kidd has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ryzon is on him like a limpet, forcing Kidd back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryzon breaks from the clinch.

Ryzon rushes Kidd and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kidd is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ryzon is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrick Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ryzon breaks the clinch.

Ryzon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kidd tries to kick Ryzon off in order to stand up. Ryzon Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryzon scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kidd to see if he's OK.
Kidd is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ryzon has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Ryzon is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Kidd looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ryzon gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Kidd is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ryzon lets go of the hold and Kidd can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joe Ryzon!
