PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vice Versa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vice Versa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vice Versa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Wu!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wu throws a shot to the body.

Wu has closed the distance and engaged Versa in a clinch.
Wu keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Versa's efforts to push away.
Wu is trying to pull guard but Versa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Wu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Versa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Versa has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wu told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Wu goes for a double leg but Versa avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Versa continues to drive forward.
Versa is looking to counter punch.
Versa throws a jab but it's blocked by Wu.
A nice side step and Wu releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Wu is trying desperately to land a takedown but Versa is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Wu.
Versa dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Wu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Vice Versa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Versa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
