The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lodano drops his hands momentarily and Santaros takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lodano connects with a body shot that sends Santaros's belly button to the back.
Santaros throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Santaros thuds a left hand into Lodano's body.
Lodano drives through and clinches with Santaros against the cage.
Santaros has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lodano uses from the top position.
Our spies down at at Midnight MMA inform us that Santaros has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Lodano passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Lodano has hold of Santaros's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Santaros seems comfortable defending it but Lodano has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Santaros is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Santaros is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lodano couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lucas Lodano!
After winning the bout, Lucas Lodano thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
