Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaleo Castell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Deacon Iii! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castell looking to score a takedown here. Deacon Iii is defending well but Castell drives through and ends up in Deacon Iii's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Deacon Iii manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Deacon Iii looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Deacon Iii pulls Castell into guard.
Castell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Castell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Castell fails in his attempt to clinch. Castell wants to clinch up but Deacon Iii keeps it at a distance. Castell gets in close and instigates a clinch. Deacon Iii is fighting off a takedown attempt but Castell is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Deacon Iii to the mat. Deacon Iii regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Castell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Deacon Iii has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Castell has managed to get both his arms back between Deacon Iii's legs - danger averted. Castell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Castell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Castell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Castell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deacon Iii is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Castell drops back looking for a leg! Deacon Iii is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deacon Iii manages to kick Castell off! Castell jumps back into Deacon Iii's guard. Castell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Deacon Iii working for submissions but it's allowed Castell to get to half guard.
Castell is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Deacon Iii looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castell is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Deacon Iii is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
