Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Vesa Asikainen and Daniel Carneiro. Carneiro is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Rasmus - In the Shadows. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Vesa Asikainen! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 2 losses; Daniel Carneiro!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Carneiro moves into the clinch.

Asikainen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carneiro uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carneiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Asikainen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Asikainen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carneiro manages to get himself to full guard.

Asikainen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Asikainen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Carneiro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Carneiro working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Asikainen is controlling Carneiro's trapped leg to prevent Carneiro from advancing to side control.
Carneiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Asikainen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carneiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Asikainen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carneiro.

Carneiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Asikainen is just riding it out for now. Carneiro eventually gives up the hold.

Carneiro takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Carneiro uses his free foot to push down on Asikainen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Asikainen.

Asikainen is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

I really don't envy Asikainen right now.

Carneiro has the hooks in. Asikainen is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Carneiro passes his arm under Asikainen's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Asikainen taps!
