Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ross Swann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dixie Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ross Swann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dixie Small! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swann shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Swann moves out of range of the strikes. Swann catches Small with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Small displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Swann throws out the jab. Small ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Small tests Swann's chin there with a solid looking shot. Small shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Small content to stall in guard here. Small looking to pass the guard. Swann preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Small has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Small tries to free his leg and advance position but Swann is retaining full guard. Small throws an elbow that misses. Swann uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Small's guard. Nice move by Swann!
Small has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Swann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Small is trying to keep Swann in close.
Small looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Small working for submissions but it's allowed Swann to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Small tries to get to full guard but Swann has control of the leg. Small trying to control but Swann postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Swann lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Small circles away quickly and effectively. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Small! But no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A solid leg kick lands there for Swann.
Swann cracks Small with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Small misses with an uppercut
letting Swann counter with a right hand. Swann throws a body shot but no joy. Small misses with an uppercut. Swann saw that one coming. Swann appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Small misses with a series of wild punches.
A counter left hand to the body from Swann misses its target. Small pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Swann throwing a counter right hand but Small manages to avoid it. Ross Swann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Swann throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Small appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Small moves into the clinch. Small is looking to take this one to the mat. Small is trying to drag Swann to the mat but Swann just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A head punch on the inside from Swann fails to land. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Swann throws a punch but it's blocked by Small. Swann misses with a body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ross Swann will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Swann is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Small ducks under a wild hook from Swann. Swann throws a series of punches but Small moves out of range. We've been told by Swann's head coaches at Wild Card that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Small moves into range and clinches up with Swann. Small tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Small is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Small wants to stall.
A short left from Swann. Small changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swann fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swann lands a nice shot that snaps Small's head back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Small passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Swann! Swann is trying to escape the mount.
Swann wants to hold on but Small pushes him away. Small thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Small lands a couple of good shots and Swann has given up his back, trying to escape the position! A lull in the action here.
Small missing with punches from the back. Well, with Small on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Swann is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Will Small go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Small lands strikes to the head. Small trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Small is trying to stick to Swann's back but Swann is turning into Small. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Small's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Swann. Swann controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Small looking for a guillotine here but Swann defends easily.
Swann has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Small working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Swann has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Small is trying to maintain the position but Swann is very close to passing his half guard. Swann is keen to just control but Small is a slippery customer. That was a close second round but I would say that Ross Swann will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Swann throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. As Swann backs off Small throws a huge counter combo but Swann manages to avoid it all.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy body kick from Swann letting Small counter with a right hand. Ross Swann is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Small takes a jab right on the kisser.
Swann blocks a jab. Swann half committed to a counter leg kick. Swann moves into range and connects with a jab. Small connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Swann throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Small counters with a nice uppercut. Small keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Small tries to counter it with a takedown but Swann pushes his down on his head and steps out. Small misses with a few strikes there.

It looked like Swann wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A right-left combo lands from Swann. This has been an exciting period of action! Swann cracks Small with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Small lands with an uppercut that bounces Swann off the cage and back into range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Small moves out of range as Swann strikes. Small throws out a loose jab but Swann uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice jab there from Swann. Small tries to clinch but Swann moves out of range. Swann seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Swann jabs Small right on the nose. Small blinks but takes it well. Small misses with a looping right. Swann throws a front kick that sends Small stumbling back into the cage. Swann cracks Small with a right hand to the side of the head. Swann throws a lazy uppercut
and Small counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Swann lands a body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Swann swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Small throws out a counter right but Swann avoids it with no problem. Good shot there by Swann. Swann with a hook. Small shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Swann is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Small can do to turn this around? Small shoots in for a takedown but Swann shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Swann chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Small throws a counter combo. Small might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Swann tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Small was well out of range. Poor timing from Swann. Swann is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A lazy left from Swann finds it's target. A decent looking cross lands there for Swann. Small takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Swann scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Small doesn't seem bothered though. Swann lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Small misses with a looping right. Small misses with a combination
and Swann counters with a stiff right hand. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Swann throws a sloppy head kick and Small moves out of range easily. Small on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Swann lands a head kick. Small smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
And that's the end of the fight! Ross Swann showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Swann, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
