The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Faulkner at a distance.
McCarthy wants to clinch up but Faulkner keeps it at a distance.
Faulkner moves into the clinch.
Faulkner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McCarthy throws a sloppy head kick and Faulkner moves out of range easily.
McCarthy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McCarthy is looking to land body kicks.
McCarthy throws the kick towards the body but Faulkner avoids it.
McCarthy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McCarthy misses with a double jab.
Faulkner lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McCarthy throwing strikes but missing.

Faulkner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Faulkner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That was a close second round but I would say that Quintin Faulkner will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
McCarthy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Faulkner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McCarthy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Faulkner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McCarthy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Faulkner.
McCarthy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Faulkner circles away quickly and effectively.

McCarthy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Faulkner defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Faulkner stands up and waves to McCarthy to follow him.

McCarthy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McCarthy pulls guard successfully.
Faulkner drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McCarthy dives on top into guard.
McCarthy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McCarthy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to James McCarthy.
I think McCarthy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
