11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Johnson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lancaster gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lancaster prevents the takedown attempt.
Lancaster scores with a shoulder strike. Lancaster lands with a short shot to the head. Johnson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lancaster is defending well against a takedown attempt. Cedric Lancaster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson. Johnson tries to pull guard but Lancaster holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Lancaster lands a nice uppercut. Lancaster working some nice short punches in the clinch. Still in the clinch, Lancaster scores with a nice short uppercut. Lancaster lands a body shot. Lancaster lands a right hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Johnson is trying to pull guard but Lancaster has him pressed against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson takes a shot to the head. Lancaster lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lancaster walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Lancaster . Lancaster maintains the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lancaster creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Johnson is trying to drag Lancaster to the mat but Lancaster just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Lancaster lands a right hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Lancaster - that landed with a thud.
Johnson looks winded! Lancaster pushes Johnson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnson tries to pull guard but Lancaster forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Lancaster lands on the inside with an uppercut. Lancaster throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Lancaster pushes Johnson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Johnson is rocked! Lancaster scores with an uppercut up the middle. Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Lancaster finish him? A short body shot lands from Lancaster as the two fighters clinch.
Lancaster scores with a shoulder strike. Lancaster drops Johnson onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Johnson is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lancaster lands a big right hand that drops Johnson! The killer instinct kicks in and Lancaster finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Lancaster !
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cedric Lancaster ! Cedric Lancaster retains his middleweight title! A very excited looking Cedric Lancaster rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. In defeat, Chris Johnson stepped up to the mic, saying 'Shit, I mean Shit He beat my ass'.
