Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Castor Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao De Santo Cristo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Santo Cristo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Que país é esse?. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Castor Rollins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao De Santo Cristo! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Santo Cristo with a jab. Rollins misses with a head kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that De Santo Cristo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Rollins checks a low kick from De Santo Cristo. Rollins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rollins is looking to take a break and control but De Santo Cristo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rollins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but De Santo Cristo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. De Santo Cristo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Santo Cristo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rollins. A decent looking cross lands there for Rollins. Rollins scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. De Santo Cristo manages to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Santo Cristo wants to control but Rollins is keeping busy and won't allow it. Rollins scores with a couple of good hammerfists. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! De Santo Cristo manages to get to full guard.

Rollins feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits De Santo Cristos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Rollins throws an overhand right that lands on De Santo Cristo's shoulder, as De Santo Cristo tries to avoid the shot. Rollins misses with a right hand and De Santo Cristo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rollins thinking. Rollins moves out of range as De Santo Cristo strikes. Rollins is looking to counter punch. Rollins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that De Santo Cristo can do to turn this around? De Santo Cristo swings away with a body shot that misses
and Rollins counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps De Santo Cristo thinking. De Santo Cristo darts in and clinches Rollins up against the cage. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rollins creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. De Santo Cristo blocking some punches.
Rollins tries to work over De Santo Cristo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Rollins has De Santo Cristo pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rollins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending De Santo Cristo tumbling to the mat - Rollins dives into De Santo Cristo's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rollins won't allow De Santo Cristo to sweep him here. Rollins content to stall in guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A slow jab from De Santo Cristo misses its intended target. As De Santo Cristo backs away, Rollins returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Rollins lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Castor Rollins is winning the standup battle so far. De Santo Cristo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rollins wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Santo Cristo keeps working. We've been hearing that Rollins has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. De Santo Cristo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rollins rather than just go for the knockout. Nice defenses there by Rollins. Rollins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. De Santo Cristo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Rollins thuds a left hand into De Santo Cristo's body. De Santo Cristo tries to clinch but Rollins is having none of it. De Santo Cristo blocks a low kick nicely. Rollins dodges the punch combination from De Santo Cristo.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Santo Cristo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and De Santo Cristo manages to end up in side control. De Santo Cristo working the ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rollins can't do much from the bottom here. Rollins tries to improve position but can't. Rollins is trying to control De Santo Cristo's posture but De Santo Cristo avoids it. De Santo Cristo working the ground and pound but Rollins is defending the strikes. De Santo Cristo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. De Santo Cristo tries to score with some ground and pound. Rollins controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

De Santo Cristo in side control lands a decent elbow. Rollins sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Rollins desperately trying to maintain half guard. De Santo Cristo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rollins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rollins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in De Santo Cristo's guard.
Rollins has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rollins won't allow De Santo Cristo to sweep him here. De Santo Cristo controls Rollins momentarily but Rollins frees himself. Rollins wants to control from the top but De Santo Cristo keeps moving. De Santo Cristo wants to sweep but no luck. Rollins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rollins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Castor Rollins showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rollins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
