Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russ Mcclure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Browne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russ Mcclure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derrick Browne!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Browne checks a low kick from Mcclure.

Browne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcclure keeping moving, preventing Browne from controlling successfully.
Mcclure looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Browne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Browne stands up from Mcclure's guard - Browne perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcclure misses with a combination
and Browne counters with a two punch combo.

Browne scores with a takedown into Mcclure's guard.
Browne not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mcclure working a defensive guard here.
Browne wants to control from the top but Mcclure keeps moving.

Mcclure manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mcclure manages to break the clinch.

Browne drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mcclure is trying to control the position but Browne postures up.
Browne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcclure works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Browne wants to control from the top but Mcclure keeps moving.
Mcclure wants to stand and escape but Browne is having none of it.
Browne stands up over Mcclure, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Browne cracks Mcclure with a solid left hand.
Browne engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Browne's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


Mcclure is rocked!
Browne has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Browne passes into half guard.
Browne passes to side control.
Mcclure gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mcclure misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Well, if Browne is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Browne might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mcclure is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Browne scores with a couple of nice shots.
Oh Mcclure is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Browne decides to stand and escape the position.
Mcclure seems to have got his legs back now.

Mcclure gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mcclure is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Browne dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derrick Browne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mcclure circles away from the clinch attempt.
As Browne looks to move away, Mcclure throws a big counter combo but Browne just gets out of the way.
Mcclure tries to clinch up but Browne circles away and keeps his distance.
Despite the aggression on Browne's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Browne scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mcclure tries to get to full guard but Browne has control of the leg.
Browne is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Mcclure is hurt! He's hurt bad - Browne fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Mcclure from any more punishment! Congratulations to Browne! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derrick Browne!
