Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugo Freitas will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Hardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Freitas! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardy shoots in for a takedown but Freitas shows good takedown defense. Hardy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Freitas with the counter takedown but Hardy avoids it easily. Freitas has Hardy up against the cage in a clinch.
Freitas breaks from the clinch.
Freitas clinches. Freitas wants the takedown. Hardy is fighting it off but Freitas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hardy's guard against the cage. Freitas passes Hardy's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hardy wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freitas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Hardy is trying to control but can't.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Freitas working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freitas is trying to control. Hardy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hardy wants to get back to his feet.
Freitas moves into full mount! Hardy won't be happy about that! Freitas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hardy is looking to escape. Hardy tries to hold on but Freitas pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hardy tries to hold on but Freitas pushes him away. Hardy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hardy is working hard here to advance position. Hardy wants to hold on but Freitas pushes him away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Freitas looking for a guillotine from mount but Hardy is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugo Freitas dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hardy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Freitas circles away. Excellent takedown into side control there by Freitas. Hardy sneaks out the side door and pushes Freitas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Freitas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Freitas trying to control the position from guard on top but Hardy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freitas tries to stand but Hardy is controlling from the bottom. Hardy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Freitas stands up over Hardy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hardy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freitas defends well. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Freitas content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hardy is looking for a triangle but Freitas pushes his legs off easily.
Freitas wants to get up but he can't break Hardy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hardy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Freitas pinned against the cage. Freitas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Freitas moves into range and clinches up with Hardy. Freitas gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hardy is trying to escape back to his feet but Freitas uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Hardy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hardy tries to buck Freitas off but Freitas is having none of it. Freitas has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Freitas landing strikes from the mount. Freitas landing strikes from the mount. Freitas controlling the pace for now. Hardy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Freitas on the ground. Hardy flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hardy doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Hardy tries to hold on but Freitas postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freitas prevents Hardy from getting the reversal. Hardy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hardy tries to get out of the position. Freitas working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Freitas lands a couple of good shots and Hardy has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Hardy is trying to get back to his feet but Freitas has full control of the position and if anything, Hardy has just worked his way into a worse spot. Freitas has the hooks in. Hardy is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Freitas has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hardy's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugo Freitas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Freitas gets the takedown into side control. Hardy is not content to let Freitas control the position. Hardy is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freitas is looking to take a break and control but Hardy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Freitas might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hardy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freitas wants to take a breather but Hardy manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Freitas. Hardy wants to sweep but no luck. Freitas trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hardy's guard. Freitas passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Freitas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hardy tries to roll over but Freitas keeps him under control. Hardy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hardy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Freitas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hardy wants to control but Freitas is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freitas wants to stand but Hardy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hardy is looking for a sweep. Freitas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hardy gets caught napping as Freitas dives in and scores a takedown. Hardy manages to retain guard. Hardy keeping moving, preventing Freitas from controlling successfully. Freitas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hardy working for a triangle but Freitas defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freitas controlling from the top position. Hardy keeping moving, preventing Freitas from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Freitas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Hugo Freitas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Freitas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
