4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cormack Labrador! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Cook shoots in for a double leg but Labrador sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Labrador throws a sloppy head kick and The Cook moves out of range easily. Labrador tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but The Cook paws at him with a jab and circles away. Labrador moves into the clinch. Labrador tries to land knees in the clinch but The Cook avoids the damage to the body. Labrador lands an elbow that stopped The Cook in his tracks for a moment. The Cook goes for a takedown attempt but Labrador pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Labrador misses with a wild body shot. Labrador tries to clinch but fails miserably and The Cook decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Labrador's guard. The Cook is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Labrador is just riding it out for now. The Cook eventually gives up the hold. The Cook seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Labrador does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Labrador really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Cook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The Cook is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Labrador is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Labrador manages to get to full guard.
