Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Strange will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strange lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Strange misses with a wild body shot.
Sullivan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Strange scores with a nice right hand.
Sullivan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sullivan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Strange swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Simon Strange seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sullivan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Strange with the counter takedown but Sullivan avoids it easily.
Strange fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sullivan fails with a takedown attempt.
Strange is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Strange ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sullivan moves away.
Sullivan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Sullivan takes the fight into the clinch.
Strange blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Strange stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strange misses with a punch on the inside.
A short uppercut from Sullivan.
Sullivan throws a head punch that misses.

Strange looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Still in the clinch, Sullivan scores with a nice short uppercut.

Sullivan pulls guard effortlessly.

Sullivan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Strange defends well.

Sullivan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Strange can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sullivan has his foot on Strange's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strange works his way back into a safe position though.

Sullivan wants to sweep here but Strange controlling him for the moment.

My spies in Mello MMA inform me that Strange has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Strange distracts Sullivan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Sullivan is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Strange rolls with it to try and escape but Sullivan cranks on the arm and Strange is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
