Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Arderos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Norris! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arderos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Norris was covering up waiting for the punch and Arderos finishes the takedown easily into guard. Norris is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Norris wants to sweep here but Arderos controlling him for the moment. Arderos sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arderos throwing strikes but missing. Norris looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arderos trying to control but Norris is working from the bottom. Arderos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Arderos preventing the sweep. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Arderos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Norris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arderos, into his guard.

Arderos manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Norris has hold of one of Arderos's legs. Arderos is fighting the takedown attempt but Norris gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Arderos takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Norris takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Norris enables Arderos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Arderos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Norris being controlled here, momentarily. Norris looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Arderos wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Norris is breathing heavily. Arderos feints and as Norris raises his hands in defense, Arderos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Arderos stands up from Norris's guard - Arderos perhaps looking for a knockout. Norris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Arderos shoots in and gets a takedown into Norris's guard. Arderos controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Arderos makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Arderos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Arderos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arderos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Arderos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Norris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Norris has escaped and now he's on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arderos wants to sweep but no luck. Arderos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Norris on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Arderos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Norris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Norris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Arderos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Norris is aware though and is defending well. Arderos controls Norris momentarily but Norris frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arderos pulls Norris in close to prevent any damage. Arderos is looking for a triangle here but Norris uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Norris throws a strike aimed at the side of Arderos's head but Arderos avoids it well. Arderos is trying to control Norris's posture but Norris avoids it. Arderos manages to work his way to half guard, despite Norris's best efforts. Arderos is controlling Norris's trapped leg to prevent Norris from advancing to side control. Arderos works his way to full guard. Good work. Arderos looking for a sweep. Not yet Arderos, not yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Norris wants to pass the guard but Arderos is keeping the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Norris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Arderos feints and as Norris raises his hands in defense, Arderos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Arderos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Norris is trying to defend but Arderos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Arderos not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Norris wants to get back to full guard. Arderos is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Norris can do to turn this around? The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Arderos lands a nice short elbow. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Arderos is working for a kimura but Norris is defending it quite comfortably.

Norris throws a quick inside leg kick. Arderos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Norris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Arderos is staying tight to Norris's torso, preventing him from escaping. Arderos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Arderos is trying to get an arm triangle but Norris is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Norris is trying to get back to half guard. Arderos looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Norris takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Arderos decides to stand up, so the ref orders Norris to his feet. Bruce Norris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ricky Arderos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Arderos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Arderos showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Arderos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
