Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Pennyworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Pennyworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Kennedy !
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy dives in and grabs Pennyworth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pennyworth pushes down on Kennedy 's head and hops out.

Pennyworth rushes Kennedy and presses him up against the cage.
Kennedy prevents a takedown attempt there.

Pennyworth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pennyworth throws a head kick that misses
and Kennedy counters with a left and a right that stings Pennyworth.
Pennyworth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kennedy as he avoids it easily.
Kennedy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pennyworth manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pennyworth gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kennedy counters with a head kick. That will keep Pennyworth thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Pennyworth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kennedy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pennyworth prevents it.
Kennedy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pennyworth is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pennyworth drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kennedy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Justin Kennedy seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kennedy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pennyworth, up you get!

Pennyworth is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kennedy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Pennyworth will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kennedy up against the cage.

Pennyworth gets control of Kennedy 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pennyworth will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kennedy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pennyworth is proving hard to escape from.

Pennyworth wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kennedy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pennyworth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kennedy has managed to get both his arms back between Pennyworth's legs - danger averted.
Pennyworth is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Pennyworth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kennedy 's guard.

Justin Kennedy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Andrew Pennyworth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
